Can Brian save the NGO? Who is iDiOt? And can he heal Africa? Where’s Harry? Answers to
all of some of these questions, and more, in Issue2 of NGORbroadcast.
Thanks to everyone who signed up for Issue1 and thanks in particular to everyone who sent me their feedback. It’s very much appreciated – cheers. Feel free to share, feedback in the comments, or drop me a line on the contact page. In the meantime, I hope you’re all doing well, and having the best not-going-anywhere-time of quarantine that you can.
NOTE: In my novella, I exaggerate and ridicule certain aspects of NGO work, but that’s not to take away from the good that NGOs do. A lot of people rely on NGOs for security, food, education, work and healthcare.
The people in this photograph were fleeing fighting in Masisi, Democratic Republic of Congo in May, 2012 and they ended up in a camp in Nkamira, in northern Rwanda, and were helped by NGOs, including the UNHCR and the ICRC.
