This time last week I was blasting from atop my hobby horse – admittedly, more of an old nag than a thoroughbred – about annoying PR email from a particular restaurant in Hanoi. I was dismayed – yet again – to see the company and restaurant appears – yet again – in a self penned piece in one of the local rags this week. How dull is that? Is it the desperation or the laziness (or both?) of the local press when it comes to covering this joint?
Anyway, as predicted, Google has stepped in to dim the glow and dry the knickers of some of the more obvious panty wetting in the press. Google the very same restaurant now in any number of combinations and it’s this blog you’ll find high among the salivating praise. Even their own website comes listed below this blog. Go blog-power. Go rant-power. Interestingly, people really do Google these places. I’ve noticed the same effect happens when you Google another popular Hanoi restaurant – clue: the name has both a colour and a fruit in its name – oh bollocks, just hit this link. It’s amazing the number of people who’ve discovered noodlepie that way. Unfortunately for the restaurant, the commenters weren’t as kind as the local press on that joint either. Go people power.
