Yesterday I cooked a pork, sausage and flageolet bean stew – NO I didn’t smoke and YES I did open the windows immediately afterwards… Today I cooked a butternut squash soup. Both recipes came from BBC Olive Magazine. Considering I’m less than bad in the skullery, both were pretty successful. Now, here’s a new media twist to the story. I was nattering with the Editor of the new BBC Good Food.com website when she suggested I post my scoffsnaps to a Flickr group they set up. The idea is simple – if you cook sommit from the mag or the website, you post a pic of it to Flickr. They add,
“Please include any ingredient or recipe changes, and the url of the original dish.”
I like simple things and that’s simple. It gets folk talking about food. It opens the magazine recipe page up a bit – you get to slate them when the picture they publish bears zilcho resemblance to the disaster on your plate. Or you can suck up. It’s your choice. There’s more than a hint of the Is my blog burnings about it. Nice. I joined.
