Not a nerd not lonely
Just for the record... Not too much a disagree with in this piece in this New York Times piece, but I take issue with the nerdy lonely bit :)
I'll take whatever compliments I can get... The piece did get me perusing some of the back catalogue. So many standout dishes in Saigon, but if you happen to come across this post at this moment and you are in Saigon now, click the image above, hover over the dish you like, click the link and go eat eat there. Guaranteed good eating. Alternatively, follow Andrea Nguyen's excellent advice.Few writers of books, magazines or newspaper columns could compete with, say, a lonely, Vietnam-based food nerd who’d spent the last 10 years eating at every food stall in Ho Chi Minh City, exhaustively documenting every mouthful. link

serendipity! I am in Saigon on holiday right now and will do exactly what you just said.

:) Let me know if you have any address problems, the Bun Mam is the trickiest to find. Also, this post might be of use:
