The one about Banh Bao IS from an American TV show, produced for SF public TV station KQED. The chef's name is Martin Yan, and he's hilarious and has been doing shows for more than 20 years. His motto? 'If Yan can cook, SO CAN YOU!'

it seems you had try bap luoc (steamed corn) but haven't tried ba('p nuong with onion sauntered in oil . corn broiled in hot charcoal, then , brushed it with a layer of onion oil. it may be too crunchy for your pallete :)

Hello :)
This is Nhu and I just wanted to say I absolutely loove your blog! It definitely helps pass the time here at work. Looking at the pictures and reading your blog are making me homesick...I especially love the food pix. I'm seriously craving some yummy Vietnamese street food at the moment. I live in the U.S. (been here for more than 10 yrs) and there's no such thing as street food here...what a loss! Please keep blogging and enjoying life/food to the fullest :P
