These are Sake butter grilled clams from Totoya Restaurant at 15E Le Thanh Ton street, District 1. Totoya is something of a monthly hang. It’s one of six or seven fairly basic Japanese restaurants on Le Thanh Ton Street. There are changing daily specials. It’s not the most attractive Japanese resto in Saigon, but I haven’t had anything I’d call total crap here. The clams pictured are fabulous as is the salmon head. A sushi barside seat gives you a view of the grilling and sushi rolling action. My only gripe, or gripes, with this joint are the low backed bar chairs and nowhere to rest your feet barfashion. There are more pics.
